The three major airlines in the Middle East, Emirates, Etihad Airways, and Qatar Airways, have recently released their financial results for the previous fiscal year. Along with their financial information, the airlines have also revealed changes in their route networks during this period.

Etihad Airways experienced significant growth during the year, with a 32% increase in passengers and a 28% increase in capacity. The airline added over 1,700 weekly flights and increased frequencies on 25 routes. They also launched 20 new destinations, including popular summer spots like Boston, Jaipur, Bali, and Nairobi. Their fleet also grew with the addition of 12 aircraft, including an Airbus A320neo and three Boeing 787-9s.

Emirates also saw growth in their network, with six new routes added during the fiscal year. These routes include flights to Antananarivo, Phnom Penh, Lagos, Edinburgh, Adelaide, and Bogota. The airline ended the year with a net profit of $5. 5 billion and served 148 cities with a fleet of 260 passenger aircraft. They also increased frequencies on 21 routes and retrofitted 29 A380 and 20 777-300ER aircraft with new interiors.

Qatar Airways reported a net profit of $2. 1 billion and carried 43. 1 million passengers during the fiscal year. They expanded their network to 177 destinations and increased frequencies on 48 routes. The airline also added 12 aircraft to their fleet and welcomed two passenger aircraft, one freighter, seven private jets, and two leased aircraft.

During the previous calendar year, Qatar Airways added 19 new destinations to their network, including non-stop and direct flights from Doha to cities such as Abidjan, Accra, and Manohar. They also acquired a 25% stake in Virgin Australia, allowing them to launch flights from Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney using their 777-300ER aircraft.

Overall, the three major airlines in the Middle East have experienced growth in their networks and fleets, further expanding their presence and options for travelers.
