Porter Airlines Cuts Two US Routes Amidst Decreased Demand
In a recent announcement, Porter Airlines has revealed that it will be discontinuing two of its US routes. The Canadian carrier will be halting its existing route from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to San Diego at the end of next month. Additionally, the planned winter service between Montréal–Trudeau International Airport and Las Vegas, scheduled to begin in January 2026, has also been withdrawn.
Toronto – San Diego Route Details
The Toronto-San Diego route was launched in December of last year and was operated four times a week using the Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. However, the route will be suspended from June 25th, resulting in a reduction of over 32,000 seats for the remainder of the year. Air Canada will continue to operate a daily service on this route using the Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
Montreal – Las Vegas Route Details
The Montreal-Las Vegas route, which would have been the longest in Porter’s network at 2,233 miles, was scheduled to begin in January 2026 and operate three times a week until March. However, it has been canceled before its launch and Air Canada will now be the sole carrier on this route, with ten weekly flights using the Airbus A319 and Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
