JetBlue and United Airlines have recently announced a major customer benefit as a part of their Blue Sky collaboration. Starting this week, travelers will now be able to purchase eligible itineraries operated by either airline directly on JetBlue. com, United. com, and each airline’s mobile app.
This new offering will allow customers to book flights on either airline using cash, points, or miles, giving them more flexibility and choice in their booking process. When searching for flights on either airline’s website or app, customers will now see more options from both carriers, making it easier to plan and book their travels. In the future, there are plans to add the ability to book a single itinerary that includes flights operated by both JetBlue and United.
This new development follows the successful introduction of reciprocal loyalty earning and redemption in 2025, which allowed TrueBlue® and MileagePlus® members to earn and redeem rewards across both airlines. With the addition of revenue booking, JetBlue and United are delivering on their promise to create a more connected, flexible, and seamless travel experience for their customers.
Through the Blue Sky collaboration, customers can now purchase flights or redeem loyalty currency, such as TrueBlue points on JetBlue channels or MileagePlus miles on United channels, for eligible itineraries. This collaboration also makes it easier for customers to book more flights in one place, taking advantage of JetBlue’s leading leisure markets and United’s extensive domestic and global network, including United Express®. Additionally, customers can now plan their travels more easily with integrated shopping, clearer options, and more transparency around loyalty value. This collaboration also opens up more destinations for JetBlue Vacations customers, with United flights now available as part of Flight + Hotel packages, and cruise packages coming soon.
According to Andrew Nocella, EVP and Chief Commercial Officer at United, this move is an important step forward in the Blue Sky collaboration and is making it easier for customers to book travel across two leading networks. He also added that this milestone is another proof point of the value Blue Sky is bringing to customers, giving them the ability to book with cash, miles, or points on either network and providing them with more choice, flexibility, and a better overall booking experience.
Marty St. George, president of JetBlue, also expressed his excitement about this new development, stating that it is an important step forward in their Blue Sky collaboration and expands the choice and flexibility they offer to customers when they travel. He further added that this move gives their members even more ability to earn and redeem points to exciting destinations around the world, while United customers gain access to JetBlue’s network across the Americas and Europe. St. George also mentioned that throughout the year, they will enhance the Blue Sky collaboration by introducing reciprocal loyalty perks on flights and expanding Paisly-powered vacation offerings, including United-supported products such as hotels, cruises, rental cars, and travel insurance.
