Southwest Airlines has recently announced a new partnership with Air Premia, a Seoul-based airline. This agreement will make it easier for travelers to book connecting flights between the United States and Asia with a single ticket.
Under this new interline deal, customers will be able to use Southwest’s gateways in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Honolulu to connect with Air Premia flights. This will provide convenient access to U. S. cities with limited or no nonstop service to South Korea, such as Las Vegas, Houston, Phoenix, and Nashville. On the other hand, American travelers will have easier access to South Korea and other destinations in East Asia.
The new interline itineraries were made available for purchase on Wednesday. This partnership is a strategic move for both airlines, as Air Premia will have access to Southwest’s extensive network in the United States, while Southwest will gain exposure to new markets overseas.
Southwest’s Chief Operating Officer, Andrew Watterson, expressed excitement about this new partnership in a news release. He highlighted Air Premia’s commitment to providing value, comfort, and high-quality service to their passengers, which aligns with Southwest’s values and goals.
Air Premia currently serves Tokyo Narita, Hong Kong, Da Nang, Vietnam, and Bangkok in Asia. They also have flights to Newark, New Jersey, and Washington Dulles. This partnership will open up more travel options for Southwest customers and introduce new destinations to their network.
This new interline agreement between Southwest and Air Premia is a testament to the growing demand for air travel between the United States and Asia. With the convenience of booking a single ticket and the assurance of high-quality service from both airlines, travelers can look forward to a smoother and more enjoyable travel experience.
