Seasonal Nonstop Route from Atlanta to Aruba Announced by Frontier Airlines
Aruba Airport Authority N. V. (AAA) has recently revealed plans for a new seasonal nonstop route connecting Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) with Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA) in Aruba. The service is set to commence on May 24, 2025, and will operate once weekly on Saturdays until August 16, 2025, during Aruba’s peak summer travel season.
This will be Frontier Airlines’ first route from Atlanta to Aruba, although the airline already serves the island from other U. S. cities. The addition of this route expands Frontier’s presence in the Caribbean and strengthens air connectivity between Aruba and key U. S. leisure markets. With this development, Frontier will become the 29th airline to serve Queen Beatrix International Airport.
Frontier will operate the flights using an Airbus A321 aircraft, providing a weekly capacity of 230 seats between Atlanta and Aruba. This new service will complement Delta Air Lines’ existing twice-daily flights on the same route, increasing the overall capacity and offering travelers more direct travel options.
Furthermore, Frontier’s expanded network from Atlanta will also provide convenient connections for passengers to major U. S. cities such as New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Cleveland. This will expand Aruba’s accessibility to a wider audience, while also supporting long-term route sustainability.
In 2024, Aruba Airport recorded 1. 11 million revenue-generating passengers from the U. S. , with 7% coming from Atlanta. So far in 2025, 9% of U. S. travelers arriving in Aruba originated from ATL, highlighting the significance of the Atlanta market. As the busiest airport in the U. S. and a key Southeastern hub, ATL is a strategic point for expanding travel options.
According to Jo-Anne Arends, Aviation Business Development Executive at Aruba Airport Authority, “We are thrilled to welcome a new airline operating from ATL, one of the busiest hubs in the U. S. , which will enhance connectivity with several large markets. ” She continues, “Frontier will become the 29th airline to serve Aruba and now offers 16 nonstop routes to the U. S. , joining all major American carriers at our airport. These new flights reflect the strong and growing demand from airlines seeking to expand their service to Aruba.
This new route is a positive sign of growing confidence in Aruba’s tourism market and will provide travelers from the Southeast U. S. with more convenient access to the island’s renowned beaches and attractions. With its beautiful beaches and vibrant culture, Aruba continues to be a popular destination for U. S. travelers, and this new route will make it even more accessible for those in the Atlanta area.
