Gulf Air, the national airline of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has announced its plans to launch direct flights to New York (JFK) in October 2025, marking its return to the North American market. This decision was made during the official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to Washington D. C.
The new service will provide a key connection to a prominent global economic and cultural hub. Three weekly flights will be operated from October 1st, 2025, using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The initial operations will take place at JFK’s Terminal One, with a planned transition to the New Terminal One in June 2026 to offer passengers a seamless and modern travel experience, in line with Gulf Air’s premium service standards.
Jeffrey Goh, Gulf Air Group Chief Executive Officer, expressed excitement over the launch of the direct flights to New York and the airline’s return to the North American market, in line with their strategy of strategic market expansion. This new service will provide passengers with more choices and convenience for travel, not only between Bahrain and North America but also beyond, supporting the Kingdom’s connectivity strategy.
Passengers can book their flights to and from New York through Gulf Air’s mobile application, website, or travel agents. Flight timings will also be available on these platforms.
