American Airlines to Offer Bus Service Between South Bend and Chicago O’Hare

Starting October 6, American Airlines will introduce a new bus service between South Bend International Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The service will be operated by Landline and will run four times daily in both directions. Passengers will have the option to book the bus service just like a regular flight, making the travel process seamless and convenient.

Booking and Boarding Process

Passengers can book their bus service by marking South Bend as their departure point when booking their flight. They can also check in online up to 24 hours in advance and check their bags at South Bend, which will eventually transfer to their flight. The bus will have amenities such as Wi-Fi and leather seats, making the journey comfortable for passengers.

Direct Connection to Chicago

With this new bus service, American Airlines adds another direct connection to Chicago. Currently, United Airlines is the only airline with daily flights from South Bend to Chicago, taking passengers to O’Hare. This new service will provide passengers with more options and flexibility when traveling to Chicago.

Expansion of American’s Service from South Bend

This bus service marks the third hub that American Airlines serves directly from South Bend. In June 2018, the airline began offering nonstop flights to Charlotte, North Carolina, and Dallas-Fort Worth. During the fall football season, American also operates weekend flights from South Bend to New York LaGuardia Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

Use of AAdvantage Miles

Passengers can earn and use their AAdvantage frequent flyer miles on the bus service, making it a convenient option for American Airlines loyal customers. This also allows for a more seamless travel experience, as passengers can earn miles while traveling on the bus.

Benefits for Passengers

According to Mike Daigle, CEO and executive director of South Bend airport, this bus service offers greater flexibility for all travelers. Passengers can make use of the drive time by working or streaming with the high-speed Wi-Fi on the bus. This also eliminates the hassle and stress of dealing with traffic, parking, and long lines in Chicago.

Excitement from American Airlines

Jordan Pack, American’s director of domestic network planning, expressed excitement for the new bus service, stating that they look forward to welcoming travelers on this innovative service. With the bus service connecting South Bend with Chicago O’Hare hub, American is providing a convenient and efficient option for their customers.

Booking Now Available

Customers can start booking trips for October 6 and beyond using this new bus service. With American Airlines’ commitment to providing convenient and comfortable travel options, this bus service is a welcome addition for passengers traveling between South Bend and Chicago.
