United Airlines Announces Plan to Upgrade Long-Haul Premium Cabins
United Airlines has announced plans to revamp its long-haul premium cabins, with the first planes expected to enter service in 2026. The new Polaris business class will feature private suites with added space and amenities, including a caviar course and companion seating. The redesigned cabins will first debut on the San Francisco to Singapore route, followed by San Francisco to London.
Upgraded Business Class Experience
The new Polaris business class seats will include sliding privacy doors and updated finishes. Additionally, some rows will feature the new Polaris Studio Suite concept, which offers 25% more space than the standard Polaris seat. According to Andrew Nocella, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at United, these new innovations aim to provide a more premium experience for customers and set the airline up for growth in the future.
Refreshed Premium Economy
United will also be refreshing its premium economy seats, with the new interiors rolling out on newly delivered Boeing 787-9s starting in late 2025. By 2027, the airline plans to have 30 of these planes available. The new premium economy seats will feature privacy dividers and wireless charging, providing an upgraded experience for passengers.
