A new luxury terminal, PS, is bridging the gap between first-class airline lounges and private FBOs for business jets. This exclusive terminal offers the same upscale amenities as private jet travel, but with even more privacy and exclusivity.

PS, formerly known as Private Suite, first opened its doors at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) nine years ago. Located two miles away from the congested LAX entryway, guests are greeted by a dedicated team of at least eight staff members. The LAX location boasts 12 individual suites, catering to the Hollywood jet set and other affluent travelers.

In 2023, PS expanded to the world’s busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). The 8,575-square-foot facility features three private suites and a shared salon, offering a front-row view of planes taking off.

After a year-long delay, construction began in May for a new PS facility at Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) airport. The 12,200-square-foot space will include private suites, shared lounges, and a bar with plush lounge seating. Construction for a facility at Miami International Airport (MIA) is set to begin this month, with both locations expected to open in spring 2026.

While commercial lounges have improved in recent years, PS offers a level of exclusivity that cannot be matched. As a fixed-base operator (FBO) for commercial flights, PS has its own facilities, TSA security, and access to aircraft airside. This allows guests to bypass the main terminal completely, with PS providing luxury transportation directly to and from the aircraft.

Traditional FBOs have also seen significant upgrades, with private equity investments transforming them into lavish terminals. For example, Million Air FBO in White Plains resembles a winter lodge, while Atlantic Aviation in Aspen offers an upscale lodge aesthetic that allows travelers to appreciate the natural surroundings. Clay Lacy Aviation’s new FBO at John Wayne International Airport in Orange County, California, promises to set new standards for size, beauty, and sustainability.

Unlike traditional FBOs, PS caters to passengers flying on commercial airlines, offering a private-jet experience without the high costs. The company’s CEO, Amina Belouizdad Porter, has “learned a ton” from PS’s slow and steady development over the past nine years. The new facilities in DFW and MIA will feature additional amenities, such as dedicated showers and separate dining spaces, to elevate the overall experience.

At PS MIA, located in the historic former Pan American Airways headquarters, guests can enjoy five private suites, two salons, a central outdoor courtyard, and a day spa. The team of architects will restore the gold paneling and original reflecting pools of the former Pan Am building, while incorporating new design elements and materials, such as terrazzo, marble, and smoked glass.

Meanwhile, PS DFW, designed by Jean Liu, will feature a bar at the center
