Singapore Airlines was the first airline to introduce the Airbus A380 and currently has 12 of the superjumbos remaining in their fleet. They are tied with British Airways as the second-largest operator of this aircraft, with Qantas coming in third with 10 A380s.
Each of Singapore Airlines’ A380s has a total of 471 seats, all configured in the same way. This includes six fully enclosed suites with a double bed (1-1), 78 business class seats (1-2-1), 44 premium economy seats (2-4-2 with a 38″ pitch), and 343 economy seats (3-4-3 with a 32″ pitch).
For the first half of 2026, Singapore Airlines has nine routes planned for their A380s from their main hub at Changi Airport. Two routes in particular stand out, the first being daily flights to Dubai (more on that later in the article). The second is the temporary return of the A380 to Hong Kong.
Only three routes, London Heathrow, Mumbai, and Sydney, will continuously see the A380 during this time period. However, Mumbai will not have A380 service for one month later in the year. This variability in routes is due to the analysis of two aviation seasons and changing equipment based on demand.

In March, the A380 will make its debut on Singapore Airlines’ popular Dubai route. This will be the first time the airline has regularly flown the A380 to the Middle East. Previously, there were only two round-trip flights to Dubai in 2024. The A380 will replace the Boeing 777-300ER, providing 78% more seats per flight. The airline’s booking data from the 12 months leading up to October 2025 shows that they had just under a quarter of the market share for this route. The A380 will allow them to increase their market share and better penetrate popular destinations such as Manila, Bali/Denpasar, Jakarta, Bandar Seri Begawan, Surabaya, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Melbourne, Sydney, and Osaka Kansai.
