Southwest Airlines has recently announced the launch of a new business travel offering called “Business Priority. ” This new product is designed to provide corporate customers with more flexibility and access to upgrades.

Under the Business Priority plan, passengers will receive preferred reaccommodation, standby, and boarding benefits. The aim of this product is to provide customers with more options and choices during their travels, as stated by the carrier.

Companies will have the option of including Business Priority in their travel agreements with Southwest, although specific financial details have not been disclosed at this time.

Aileen Furlong, the vice president of sales at Southwest, stated in a news release that the airline is dedicated to meeting the expectations of today’s and tomorrow’s business customers through various initiatives. These include assigned and extra legroom seating, cabin upgrades with in-seat power, Starlink ultra-fast WiFi, larger overhead bins, and international partnerships. Furthermore, Southwest Business is making it easier for corporate buyers to access these enhancements through expanded distribution options and priority travel from booking to boarding.

Business Priority is expected to be available in early 2027, according to the airline’s plans.

As Southwest continues to move away from its previous low-cost model, it has been expanding its premium, business travel, and loyalty programs. The airline is currently working on setting up its first airport lounges, although no formal announcements have been made yet.
