LaGuardia Airport Named Best US Airport by Forbes Travel Guide

For the second year in a row, New York’s LaGuardia Airport has been named the Best US Airport in Forbes Travel Guide’s Verified Air Travel Awards. The airport, known for its previous reputation of being compared to a “third-world country” by former President Biden, has undergone a $8 billion renovation project and is now being praised for its spacious gate areas, state-of-the-art architecture, and renowned food options from New York culinary institutions like H&H Bagels and Junior’s.

This recognition from Forbes is not the first for LaGuardia Airport in 2025. Earlier this year, it was also named the Best Airport in North America by Skytrax for domestic and short-haul international travel. This recognition is a far cry from the airport’s previous reputation and a testament to the success of the renovation project.

Port Authority Executive Director Rick Cotton acknowledged the airport’s transformation, stating that a decade ago, the idea of LaGuardia Airport being recognized as the best regional airport in North America would have been laughable. But with the collaborative efforts of the Port Authority and their private partners, the airport has now become a world-class airport with impressive architecture, public art, and state-of-the-art technology.

In addition to LaGuardia Airport’s recognition, Forbes Travel Guide also named Singapore Changi Airport as the Best International Airport. This airport, which sees over one million Australian visitors annually, boasts impressive features such as a 10-story shopping mall, multiple indoor gardens, a butterfly center, a rooftop pool, a museum, a 24-hour movie theater, a dinosaur theme park, and the world’s largest indoor waterfall at 130 feet tall.

For the second year in a row, Emirates and Delta Air Lines were named the Best International Airline and Best US Airline, respectively. Delta Air Lines also received five other awards, including Best US First Class, Best US Business Class, Best US Airline Lounge at John F. Kennedy International Airport, and Best Airline App.

With its centennial celebration this year, Delta Air Lines has proven to be a top contender in the industry, offering luxurious amenities such as memory-foam-padded recliners in their First Class cabin and a Delta One Lounge with full-body massage chairs, fine dining options, and soundproof booths for work.

The recognition from Forbes Travel Guide serves as a testament to the continuous efforts of airports and airlines to provide top-tier experiences for passengers. As the travel industry continues to evolve and improve, passengers can expect to see more impressive features and amenities at airports and on airlines.
