Portland International Jetport to Offer Nonstop Flights to Los Angeles and San Francisco this Summer
Travelers will now have the option to fly directly from the Portland International Jetport to Los Angeles and San Francisco, as United Airlines announces the addition of seasonal direct service to these cities.
This is the first time that the Portland Jetport will offer direct flights to these west coast destinations, providing convenience and accessibility for travelers. Paul Bradbury, the airport director, expressed excitement about the new development in a news release on Thursday.
Starting June 27, flights to both cities will run once a week on Saturdays, using a Boeing 737 aircraft with a capacity of 126 to 179 passengers. Tickets will be available for purchase starting Friday.
With this new service, the jetport will now have direct flights to United’s seven domestic hubs this summer. In addition, there will be Saturday service to Houston and daily flights to Chicago, Denver, New York City, and Washington, D. C.
Zach Sundquist, the assistant airport director, also shared his thoughts on the announcement, stating that the addition of Los Angeles and San Francisco to their route network will connect them to two of their top unserved markets. He also emphasized the convenience of having easy access to and from the west coast during the peak tourism season.
United Airlines has yet to respond to inquiries about the new service.
