STARLUX Airlines, a Taiwan-based carrier, recently announced a new nonstop flight from Phoenix, Arizona to Taipei, scheduled to begin in early 2026. To enhance the travel experience for passengers, STARLUX has also signed a commercial partnership with American Airlines on August 15, 2025.
This partnership allows for easier access to routes connecting North America and Taipei, with single-ticket bookings and through-checked luggage between the two airlines. STARLUX’s CEO, Glenn Chai, expressed excitement for the partnership with American Airlines, one of the top airlines in the United States. This collaboration will expand STARLUX’s reach into the US and provide American Airlines customers with more travel options to Taipei.
Anmol Bhargava, American’s Senior Vice President of Alliances, also shared enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that customers can now enjoy convenient connections from Taipei to over 250 destinations in North America. With STARLUX’s launch of the Taipei to Phoenix route, the networks of both airlines will become more closely connected. Phoenix, as a key hub for American Airlines in the southwestern US, offers strategic advantages for STARLUX passengers arriving from Taipei.
To further improve convenience for connecting travelers, STARLUX has scheduled its Phoenix flights to allow for smooth connections to American Airlines flights bound for major cities in the US such as New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Charlotte, Miami, Dallas, Las Vegas, and El Paso.
The daily route between Taipei and Phoenix will be operated with an Airbus A350-900 aircraft, offering a total of 306 seats, including four in first class, 26 in business class, 36 in premium economy, and 240 in economy. The first flight is scheduled to commence on January 15, 2026.
