Luxury Private Jet Company Offers Blind Bookings for European Flights
A private jet company, Chapman Freeman, has recently launched a new service offering luxury flights from just £420 per person. The catch? Passengers won’t know where they’re heading until the day of the flight.
The company’s “blind booking” service promises a luxurious flight for four to six passengers on one of their swanky aircraft, with prices starting at 3,000 euros for a one-way journey. This works out to be around £840 per person for a round-trip flight, based on the full capacity of six people flying.
While passengers cannot choose their destination, they can select from themed options such as “romance,” “outdoor action,” “city break,” “Germany exclusive,” and “sun and beach. ” After filling out an online form, the flight broker team will inform passengers of the available destination on the same day.
If the offered destination is not desirable, passengers have the option to decline the flight. The aircraft in Chapman Freeman’s fleet includes the sleek Dassault Falcon 7X, known for its spacious interior, white leather seats, and large windows.
According to the company, the appeal of blind booking lies in the spontaneity and exclusivity it offers. The service is ideal for adventurous travelers who want to be surprised but still expect luxury. Chapman Freeman believes that the concept will entice US travelers to explore more of Europe in style.
This is not the first time an airline has offered passengers the excitement of an unknown destination. Scandinavian Airlines launched a “Destination Unknown” flight last year for members of its frequent flyer loyalty program. Although there are no similar trips planned for the future, interested passengers can sign up for alerts to be notified of the next mystery trip.
The use of private jets has significantly increased in recent years, particularly in the US. Ricky Sitomer, founder of Star Jets International, reported a 35% increase in demand for short-haul flights under 300 miles in the past three years. Sitomer’s frequent short-haul flyers include celebrities, athletes, real estate professionals, and C-level executives, with popular trips being to destinations such as the Hamptons, Nantucket, and Toronto.
Using private jets like taxis, trips from Manhattan to nearby vacation islands have seen a significant increase in demand. Sitomer estimates that these kinds of trips have risen by 35% in the past three years, with customers paying thousands of pounds per journey. For example, a jet for eight people from New York to Nantucket costs around $5,000 (£4,207) each way.
