Global Airlines Takes Flight from Glasgow Airport

Global Airlines, a new British airline, has officially launched with its maiden flight taking off from Glasgow Airport today. The airline promises to offer a less stressful and more luxurious flying experience than other airlines, with amenities such as champagne and caviar onboard.

The first flight, aboard an Airbus A380 plane, was scheduled to depart at 11am but was slightly delayed until 11:34am. The flight is headed for New York JFK and is reported to have 170 out of a possible 506 seats occupied.

Founded by James Asquith, who previously held the record for the youngest person to travel to every country in the world at 24, Global Airlines aims to bring back the “Golden Age of Travel” with elevated service and a new era of flying.

Asquith, now 36, has expressed his disappointment with the current state of commercial air travel and promises that Global Airlines will be better. He believes that people are looking for a better flying experience and hopes to provide “fast relief from the aches and pains associated with commercial air travel”.

The airline currently owns two European-built Airbus A380s, with one being 12 years old and in service for today’s inaugural flight. In addition, one passenger who had paid for a business class ticket was upgraded to first-class upon check-in, and other passengers were reportedly given free upgrades as well.
