The state of New York has announced that 16 public-use airports have been awarded a total of $25 million in grants through the AIR NY Aviation Grant Program. Link Field, Ithaca Tompkins International Airport, Ogdensburg International Airport, Orange County Airport, Akron Airport/Jesson Field, LeRoy Airport, Malone-Dufort Airport, and Republic Airport on Long Island. These grants will fund a variety of projects such as construction of snow removal centers, rehabilitation of hangars, and installation of energy-efficient systems.
The Aviation Capital Grant Program, which is responsible for allocating these grants, considers a range of criteria when evaluating proposed projects.
