LOT Polish Airlines Announces New Route between Warsaw and San Francisco

LOT Polish Airlines, a leading European carrier, has recently revealed its plans for expansion in North America with the launch of a new route between Warsaw and San Francisco in May 2026. This move comes as the United States remains a key long-haul market for the airline, with growing potential for both business and leisure travel.

The inaugural flight on the Warsaw to San Francisco route is scheduled for May 6, 2026, and will be operated by LOT Polish Airlines. The airline will offer four weekly services throughout the summer of 2026, with flights departing from Warsaw on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Flight LO035 to San Francisco (SFO) will depart from Warsaw (WAW) on Thursdays and Sundays at 11:15, while flight LO037 will depart on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 17:40. Return flights to Warsaw will also be available on the same days, with flight LO036 departing at 15:50 and LO038 at 22:1, respectively.

Covering a distance of 5,867 miles (9,387km), the flight is estimated to take approximately 11 and a half hours for the westbound journey and an hour less for the eastbound journey. All flights will be operated by LOT’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, which includes eight 787-8s and seven 787-9s with a seating capacity of 252 and 294 passengers, respectively.

LOT Polish Airlines considers transatlantic flights to be of strategic importance, with 800,000 passengers traveling between Poland and the United States in the past 12 months alone. The new route not only connects the heart of Europe with the global hub for technology and innovation but also opens up new opportunities for business travelers and tourists alike.

According to Robert Ludera, Registered Representative and Director of the Network Department at LOT Polish Airlines, San Francisco is a city of exceptional charm and a symbol of openness, innovation, and the Californian lifestyle. He also adds that the city’s popularity among tourists, thanks to its rich culture, history, and unique vibe, makes it an ideal destination for the airline’s expansion plans.

San Francisco is known as the cradle of numerous global brands and a city that consistently attracts entrepreneurs and investors from around the world. The company statement further highlights the city’s scenic beauty, diverse landscape, and vibrant culture, making it a must-visit destination for travelers.

With the addition of San Francisco, the city joins Chicago, New York, Newark, Miami, and Los Angeles as the fifth US city in LOT Polish Airlines’ regular flight network. This expansion not only strengthens the airline’s presence in North America but also provides travelers with more options and convenience when flying to and from Europe. LOT Polish Airlines invites all passengers to join them on their flights to experience the unique charm of San Francisco and the warm hospitality of the airline.
