Delta Air Lines to Launch Nonstop Service between Memphis International Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport

In exciting news for travelers, Delta Air Lines has announced the launch of a new nonstop service between Memphis International Airport (MEM) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). This service is set to begin on September 8, providing a more convenient and efficient option for international travel.

This is especially significant as New York City, which includes JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark airports, is the second largest market for Memphis International.

According to Michael Kenney, chairman of the Board of Commissioners for Memphis-Shelby County Airport, the addition of this new route will expand connectivity to Europe and other international destinations. The President and CEO of the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority, Terry Blue, also shared his excitement for the potential of additional global access with the JFK flight.

Kevin Kane, President of Memphis Tourism, further emphasized the demand for this route from Memphis travelers. Currently, Memphis International offers nonstop flights to LaGuardia Airport (LGA) through American Airlines and Delta, but the new JFK route will provide a more direct option for international travelers. Kane also noted the inconvenience and added expense of having to travel from LaGuardia to JFK, which can often take several hours.
