EVA Airways to Launch Direct Flight Service from Taipei to Washington

Taiwanese airline EVA Airways has announced its plans to launch a direct flight service from Taipei to Washington on June 26, with four flights per week. This new route will make EVA Airways the Taiwanese carrier with the most destinations in North America, expanding its network to 10 gateways in the region.

According to EVA Airways president Clay Sun, North America has always been an important market for the airline. The addition of the Washington route will strengthen their presence on the US east coast, allowing them to better serve this influential market with a high concentration of global enterprises. The airline also aims to provide passengers with more flexible, efficient, and comfortable travel options.

The flights from Taipei to Washington will be operated by Boeing 787-9 aircraft and will depart on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Washington is the seventh-largest metropolitan area in the US and is home to a robust population, including a high concentration of top-tier talent and high-net-worth individuals. With its strong economic activities and headquarters for numerous organizations, Washington has a strong potential demand for premium air travel.

In addition to the new route, EVA Airways has also launched a new group tour service called “Nine-Day Eastern US Highlights” in collaboration with Taiwanese travel agencies. The tour will connect Washington with other popular destinations on the east coast, such as Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City, and more. This itinerary, exclusively available in Taiwan, offers an efficient option for travelers to explore the region.

Chryssa Westerlund, executive vice president and chief revenue officer of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, expressed her excitement for EVA Airways’ new service to Washington Dulles International Airport. She believes that this new nonstop flight will significantly reduce travel times between Taipei and Washington, while also offering seamless connections across Asia from Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport. The flight is estimated to generate over $61 million in annual economic impact to the US national capital region, solidifying Washington Dulles’ position as the international gateway to the city.

EVA Airways currently offers nonstop flights to other major cities in North America, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, New York, Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Chicago, Vancouver, and Toronto. With the addition of the Washington route, the airline’s North American network will provide more options for travelers to explore the region. EVA Airways and its new service to Washington are poised to bring more economic opportunities and enhance the travel experience for passengers.
