Dubrovnik Airport, located in the southernmost region of Croatia, has had a remarkable year of growth and success. Recently, it was announced that the airport will be making investments to further improve its services.
According to Poslovni Dnevnik/Sinisa Malus, Dubrovnik Airport has set a new record by serving over three million passengers in the first eleven months of 2025. This is a growth of 4. 46 percent compared to the same period in the previous year, which was also a record-breaking year. In addition to the high number of passengers, the airport has also achieved successes in other areas, including financial results. The estimated operating profit for 2025 is around 6. 3 million euros.
Viktor Šober, the director of Dubrovnik Airport, expressed great satisfaction with the airport’s achievements this year. He acknowledged the hard work of the employees, the trust of passengers, and the continuous investment in improving the quality of service. He also thanked the partners, users, and the community for their support.
One of the significant milestones of this year was the direct daily flights to New York, making Dubrovnik Airport the only airport in Croatia to connect with the United States. The summer schedule also saw the return of the Swiss carrier, connecting Dubrovnik with Zurich five times a week. In total, five new routes were introduced, including three operated by Ryanair.
Dubrovnik Airport experienced record-breaking months in terms of passenger and operation numbers from May to September. The first ten months of the year also saw continuous growth. Additionally, the airport saw a significant increase in cargo, goods, and mail traffic, with a growth of over 1000 percent since the beginning of the year.
Investments have also been approved for Dubrovnik Airport, including the procurement of advanced equipment for passenger and luggage security screening. The implementation of modern systems for check-in, baggage drop-off, and internal processes will also improve the user experience.
In terms of winter flight schedule, Croatia Airlines has introduced a new route to Rome, operating twice a week all year round. This brings the total number of international routes to 27 for Croatia Airlines this winter. Other airlines, such as Ryanair and LOT Polish Airlines, are also offering winter flights to major European cities.
Dubrovnik Airport is expecting a busy pre-season next year, with new routes to Madrid, Dublin, London, and Manchester starting at the end of February. The airport is continuously working on introducing new carriers and destinations, with a focus on improving traffic during pre-season, post-season, and winter months.
