Delta to Adjust Network and Add New Daily Route to Atlanta at Dayton Airport

Delta recently announced that they will be making adjustments to their network in order to meet customer demand. A spokesperson for the airline stated that they will work to rebook any customers who are impacted by these changes on alternative flights. They also expressed their apologies for any inconvenience caused by schedule changes.

One of the changes that will be taking place is the end of Delta’s service to LaGuardia, which will occur on September 7th. Melissa Riley Patsiavos, the marketing and air service director for Dayton International Airport, confirmed that this will leave the airport with nonstop flights to 11 different destinations.

In response to the discontinuation of the LaGuardia route, Delta will be adding another daily route to Atlanta at Dayton airport. This new route will run from September 8th to December 19th, increasing the number of daily flights between Dayton and Atlanta to five. Patsiavos stated that this will result in an 8% increase in Delta’s overall capacity from Dayton airport.

While there will no longer be nonstop flights to New York City, Patsiavos explained that many of the airport’s airline partners still offer one-stop service to the area. In addition, United Airlines will be increasing their capacity to Denver in June by using a larger aircraft.

In the first quarter of this year, Dayton International Airport saw approximately 148,100 passenger boardings, which is a 1. 9% increase from the same period in 2020. Delta accounts for less than a quarter of the airport’s passenger traffic, while American Airlines and United Airlines make up the majority with nearly half and 20%, respectively.

Currently, Dayton airport offers nonstop service to Atlanta, St. Pete-Clearwater, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Punta Gorda (Florida), and Washington D. C. With the addition of the new daily route to Atlanta and increased capacity to Denver, the airport continues to provide convenient travel options for passengers.
