Delta Announces New Transcontinental Route from Newark, New Jersey to Los Angeles

Delta Airlines has announced plans to add a new transcontinental route in 2027. Beginning on April 12, 2027, the airline will connect Newark, New Jersey with Los Angeles, California. The route will operate twice daily using Airbus A321neo aircraft.

Currently, Delta offers service between Los Angeles and New York-JFK. With the addition of the Newark route, travelers will have even more options and flexibility when traveling to and from the New York metro area.

According to Scott Santoro, Delta’s vice president of Los Angeles and West Coast sales, “Los Angeles plays a central role in Delta’s network, and this new nonstop service to Newark reflects our commitment to connecting customers across key business markets. ” He also added that the airline is dedicated to providing customers with a comfortable and reliable travel experience between the East and West Coasts.

In addition to the Newark route, Delta will also be adding two seasonal routes in 2027. These include flights between New York-LaGuardia and Melbourne, Florida, as well as between Austin, Texas and Fort Myers, Florida.

The New York-Melbourne connection will begin on December 19, 2027, and will run through May 2, 2027. Flights will only operate on weekends, specifically on Saturdays and Sundays. Similarly, the Austin-Fort Myers route will only operate on Saturdays from November 21 to April 10, 2027. The airline will use A220-300 aircraft for this particular route.

With these new routes, Delta aims to provide customers with more travel options and improve connectivity between key business markets. This expansion also reflects the airline’s commitment to providing comfortable and reliable service to its customers.

In conclusion, Delta’s addition of a new transcontinental route from Newark to Los Angeles, as well as two seasonal routes, will offer travelers more choices and flexibility when flying to and from the East and West Coasts. As one of the leading airlines in the industry, Delta continues to prioritize customer satisfaction and convenience.
