New Non-Stop Flights Between Puerto Rico and Dominica Commence with Warm Reception

Caribbean Airlines flights, BW 296 and BW 297, were welcomed with open arms as they landed in Puerto Rico and Dominica, respectively, on August 15. The start-up of non-stop services between the two destinations has been highly anticipated and is a major step towards promoting regional growth and increasing air access.

Excitement filled the air as the Puerto Rico Tourism Company hosted a travel blogger from Dominica to showcase the attractions and beauty of Puerto Rico. As the aircraft arrived back in Dominica, it was greeted with a water salute at Douglas-Charles International Airport. Tourism officials from Discover Dominica also presented tokens to arriving passengers, making them feel welcomed and appreciated.

Expressing her enthusiasm for the new flight connection, Willianette Robles Cancel, Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, stated, “The tourism industry is a key component of the Caribbean economy. We are always seeking ways to foster local and regional growth, and this partnership with Caribbean Airlines is a great opportunity to do so. We welcome this new flight connection with Dominica and look forward to the new horizons and opportunities it will bring.

In July, Caribbean Airlines announced an enhanced commercial schedule in response to customer feedback for more regional travel options. This new route between Puerto Rico and Dominica provides convenient travel options for the latter part of the summer peak and towards the Christmas season.

Passengers arriving at Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in Puerto Rico were greeted with a cultural showcase, giving them a taste of the vibrant and diverse culture of the island.

Honorable Chekira Lockhart-Hypolite, Acting Minister of Tourism in Dominica, also expressed her excitement for the new route, stating, “This new service brings incredible convenience, especially for travelers from the U. S. With less congestion than major hubs like Miami or New York, connecting travelers can reach Dominica quicker and with less stress. Caribbean Airlines’ increased service from Trinidad further strengthens our regional links, giving travelers more seamless options through Port of Spain. We thank Caribbean Airlines for their partnership as we continue to make it easier for the world to visit our beautiful island.

In addition to the non-stop flights between Puerto Rico and Dominica, Caribbean Airlines has also increased its non-stop flights between Dominica and Trinidad. This allows for seamless onward connections to and from New York three times a week in either direction.

The airline remains dedicated to providing consistent and reliable travel options for its customers while fulfilling its mandate to improve connectivity throughout the Caribbean. Tickets for these flights can be purchased through their website, mobile app, ticket offices, reservations call centre, and travel agents.

With these new non-stop flights, travelers can now easily and conveniently explore the beauty and culture of both Puerto Rico and Dominica, making the Caribbean more accessible than ever before.
