British Airways Expands Transatlantic Network with New Direct Flights to St.
British Airways has announced plans to expand its transatlantic network by launching direct flights from London to St. Louis, Missouri in 2026. The new flight route will connect London Heathrow to the heart of the Midwest, offering travelers a gateway to the vibrant city of St. Louis.
The flights are set to begin on April 19, 2026 and will run four times weekly during the summer months. According to Neil Chernoff, British Airways’ Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, St. Louis is a fantastic addition to their US network, offering a rich history, vibrant culture, and access to other exciting destinations.
With this new route, British Airways will become the only UK airline to offer direct flights to St. Louis, making it their 27th American city served. This launch also coincides with the 100th anniversary of Route 66, the iconic highway that stretches from Chicago to Los Angeles, passing through St. Louis.
For travelers seeking a classic American road trip, St. Louis offers a unique experience with its stretch of Route 66, featuring vintage diners, neon signs, and historic motels. Beyond its Route 66 charm, the city is also home to Forest Park, one of the largest urban parks in the US, as well as a range of free museums and a thriving craft beer scene.
Aside from leisure travelers, St. Louis is also a popular destination for sports enthusiasts, with teams like the St. Louis Cardinals, Blues, and City Soccer Club. British Airways offers three cabin options for passengers, including World Traveller (economy), World Traveller Plus (premium economy), and Club World (business class), with return fares starting at £529 from October 1.
Passengers flying in Club World can enjoy the airline’s latest business class seat, the Club Suite, on select flights. This private space offers direct aisle access, a fully flat bed, and a 17-inch high-resolution entertainment screen. The cabin also features a brasserie-style dining experience with a variety of freshly prepared dishes.
In addition to the new St. Louis route, British Airways will also resume twice-daily flights to Miami and offer daily services to Dallas-Fort Worth starting next summer. Flights to Las Vegas will increase from 10 to 13 per week, and the airline will also serve San Diego and Austin 14 times weekly. New York (JFK) will operate exclusively from London Heathrow, with nine daily flights including a new service with the airline’s 777-200 fleet.
