Archer Aviation Announces Partnership for New Air Taxi Network in Miami
Archer Aviation, a California-based company specializing in eVTOL and eCTOL aircraft, has unveiled plans for a new air taxi network in the Miami metropolitan area. This network will provide travelers with efficient and sustainable transportation to and from various locations in Southern Florida, including local airports.
Expanding its reach beyond California, Archer has also announced plans for air taxi networks in cities like New York, Chicago, and countries such as Japan and the United Arab Emirates. In August 2024, the company shared its proposal for an air taxi network in Los Angeles, and has since become the exclusive air taxi provider for the 2028 Olympic Games in the city.
In the southern coast of the United States, Archer is now set to establish another air taxi network in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and other key landmarks in the area. This announcement was made through a press release earlier today, detailing the company’s partnerships in the Miami metropolitan area.
Among these partnerships are real estate company Related Ross, Apogee Golf Club, and Hard Rock Stadium. These locations will either have existing heliports converted for eVTOL use or have new air taxi vertiports built.
“Our partnership with Archer marks a pivotal step in expanding South Florida’s regional connectivity through cutting-edge technology. We are integrating Archer’s electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft into our flagship locations across South Florida, including the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Related Ross developments in West Palm Beach, and Apogee Club in Hobe Sound. We’re excited to embrace a forward-thinking vision that transforms how people and businesses move across the region.
According to Archer, the air taxi network will offer 10 to 20 minute flights to and from populated areas in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach. It will also provide easier access to major airports in Southern Florida, such as Miami International Airport, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, and Palm Beach International Airport, as well as general aviation airports.
“Miami has never been afraid to bet on the future. We’re a city that attracts visionaries, embraces breakthrough technology, and turns bold ideas into real impact. For years, I’ve worked with Archer as they’ve advanced a vision for an air-taxi network that will elevate Miami’s position as a global capital for innovation and mobility. What they’re building isn’t just transformational transportation, it embodies the Miami mindset: we lead, we innovate, and we redefine what’s possible.
Archer has not announced a specific timeline for the launch of this air taxi network in Miami, but it is expected to take a few more years due to the need for further development and FAA certifications for eVTOL operations in the US.
