Nap Rooms at Busy Airports: A Review
Traveling through airports can be a stressful and exhausting experience, especially when dealing with layovers. As someone who usually avoids short stays that require connecting flights, I was dreading my recent trip from New York’s LaGuardia Airport to Mobile, Alabama with a three-hour stopover at the busiest airport in the world, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. However, my outlook changed when I discovered the option of booking a private “nap room” at the airport’s Minute Suites.
Booking the nap room through my Priority Pass membership, I was able to get my first hour for free and a discounted rate of $40 per hour after that. The room was well-equipped with a desk, chair, daybed with a trundle, and a Samsung Smart TV where we could log into our Netflix and Amazon Prime accounts. The room also had a sound-masking system, making it surprisingly quiet and conducive for sleep.
My daughter and I were able to relax and get some much-needed rest during our hour-long stay. Although our wake-up call did not come through loud enough, we were still able to wake up on time thanks to my phone alarm. Overall, our stay at the Minute Suites exceeded my expectations and provided a much-needed break from the busy airport.
While the price of $65 per hour may be steep for some, I found it worth it for the comfort and privacy the nap room provided. My only suggestion for improvement would be the addition of a mini fridge for storing water bottles. Despite this minor inconvenience, the nap room felt like a hidden oasis in the bustling airport, and I would book a stay again if I could use my Priority Pass discount.
Minute Suites is available in several of the country’s busiest airports, including Charlotte and Dallas-Fort Worth, and offers a range of amenities such as massage services and even overnight stays. For travelers looking for a comfortable and quiet place to rest during a layover, I highly recommend trying out a nap room at Minute Suites.
