North American Flights to Greece Set to Break Records
According to recent data from the Golden Gate Interconnections networking program, there will be a significant increase in North American flights to Greece, connecting eight major US cities and two Canadian hubs to the Hellenic Republic. This is a testament to the strategic expansion of the aviation industry and the growing interest in Greek destinations among North American travelers.
Year-Round Connectivity
The data, compiled by the Manhattan-based New York Advisory Board, led by Kostas Skagias, Ambassador of Mykonos Promo for HACC New York, reveals that seven airlines will operate routes throughout the year. While the service remains available year-round, the majority of flights will be concentrated during the peak summer months.
Leading Market: New York Airports
New York airports are at the forefront of this market, offering at least one daily flight year-round. This is followed by Boston, Washington D. C. , Atlanta, Chicago, Charlotte, Philadelphia, and, for the first time, Dallas. The US market will be serviced by five major carriers, including Delta Airlines, American Airlines, United Airlines, Emirates, and Norse Atlantic. In Canada, Air Canada and Air Transat will increase operations in late March, offering a combined 15 weekly direct flights from Toronto and Montreal.
New Destination: Dallas
The addition of Charlotte, North Carolina, to the schedule last year has proven to be a success, leading to the introduction of a new Dallas-to-Athens route this May. This expansion is expected to significantly enhance the US-Greece aviation network, particularly in the American South.
Targeting the US Travel Market
The North American travel market remains a top priority for the “Connecting With the Best” program and its members. This market is highly valued for its premium characteristics, with high-spending travelers who greatly impact the luxury tourism sector. Economic data confirms this importance, with travel receipts from the US surpassing €1. 6 billion in 2025, representing an 8. 5% increase compared to the previous year.
Aggressive Promotional Efforts
To capitalize on this momentum, the program’s team has maintained an aggressive promotional schedule since the beginning of the year. They have participated in two premier Travel & Adventure Shows in Washington, D. C. and New York City, with plans to attend the Los Angeles exhibition in March to further strengthen Greek-American tourism ties.
In conclusion, the increase in North American flights to Greece is a significant development for the country’s tourism industry. With the addition of new destinations and increased connectivity, Greece is well-positioned to welcome a growing number of North American visitors, further solidifying its status as a top travel destination.
