JetBlue’s Mint Business Class continues to impress with its consistent quality, warm service, and delicious food. On a recent flight from Los Angeles to Newark, I experienced some minor issues, but overall, flying with JetBlue was a pleasure.
After parking at a friend’s house near the airport, I walked over to the deserted check-in area. JetBlue was using Terminal 5, which is currently closed for renovations, so they will be using Terminal 2 at LAX until at least 2027. Boarding began at 7:00 am.
The aircraft had the older version of JetBlue’s Mint cabin with 16 seats. These seats are modified Thompson Aero Vantage seats, also found on Delta Air Lines, Austrian, and SWISS. They have been updated with new leather seat coverings. The standard business seats are 20. 5 inches wide with 58 inches of legroom and a lie-flat bed that stretches 80 inches when fully reclined. I was able to secure a bulkhead window seat, which provided more foot space. The center console offers multi-way seat adjustments, a universal power port, a USB-A charger, a reading light, and a storage container for a water bottle. The bedding from Tuft & Needle included a comfortable pillow and duvet.
JetBlue is known for its delicious food and drink options, and this flight was no exception. Passengers were offered a beverage and warm pain au chocolat after takeoff. JetBlue partners with Brooklyn Roasting for their coffee, and I enjoyed a cappuccino with my snack. The breakfast menu included options such as coconut yogurt, avocado toast, pear bread pudding, and baked egg. I chose the baked egg with polenta, mushrooms, and hazelnuts, and also had a side of chicken sausage. The meal was filling and decadent, and I didn’t feel hungry again until much later in the day. Throughout the flight, snacks and drinks were regularly offered. Before landing, I had a cappuccino and was given a bag of chocolate-covered cashews.
Unfortunately, the in-flight entertainment and Wi-Fi were not working on this flight, which was a first for me on JetBlue. This was a disappointment and affected my productivity, but I was able to use the time to write reviews. The amenity kit included socks, an eyeshade, earplugs, mouthwash, beauty products, lip balm, hand cream, and facial wipes. Mint passengers have access to a dedicated lavatory, but it only provided soap.
The flight attendants, Louis and Veronica, provided excellent service throughout the flight. We landed 30 minutes early in Newark, and I was impressed by the seamless collaboration with a United 777 at the gate.
Overall, I enjoyed flying with JetBlue and appreciated the consistent quality of their Mint Business Class. The lack of Wi-Fi was a disappointment, but the delicious food and attentive service made up for it.
