Swiss Unveils Redesigned Seats Across Long-Haul Fleet

Swiss, the Zurich-based airline, is introducing a new cabin concept called “Swiss Senses” on its long-haul fleet in summer 2025. This will bring redesigned cabins and new seats to all classes – first class, business, premium economy, and economy. The new seats will offer passengers more room to stretch out, with an increased seat pitch of up to 33 inches in economy, an inch more than the current coach seats on long-haul flights. The seat width will also increase to 19 inches, and passengers can enjoy six inches of recline, USB charging ports, and Bluetooth audio connectivity. The new “Swiss Senses” cabin will debut on the airline’s new Airbus A350 jet and will later be rolled out to its existing A330 and Boeing 777 planes.

Qantas Launches Nonstop Flights from Sydney to London and New York

Australian carrier Qantas is set to launch its “Project Sunrise” flights in 2027, which will offer the first-ever nonstop flights from Sydney to London and New York on its new Airbus A350-1000 jets. While these flights will save passengers about four hours of travel time, the flight duration can stretch up to 22 hours. To ensure passenger comfort during these long flights, Qantas is focusing on upgrading all four cabins: economy, premium economy, business, and first class.

Qantas A350-1000 Economy Cabin Offers Spacious Seating and Conveniences

The economy cabin on the Qantas A350-1000 will feature the most spacious seat pitch in the airline’s fleet, with 33 inches of legroom. The seats will also be 18 inches wide, providing extra room for passengers. The cabin will also offer two USB-C charging ports per passenger, a 13. 3-inch entertainment screen with Bluetooth audio connectivity, and an additional seat-back shelf for personal devices. Passengers will also have access to a “wellbeing zone” at the front of the cabin, where they can move around, grab refreshments from a self-serve pantry, and follow guided stretching exercises. The first of 12 A350-1000s is expected to be delivered in mid-2026.

All Nippon Airways to Introduce New Seats on Long-Haul Routes

All Nippon Airways (ANA) will start rolling out new seats on its long-haul international routes in 2026, including those between Tokyo and Hawaii. These seats will have better ergonomics and additional conveniences, such as an extra two inches of recline, AC power outlets, USB type A and C charging ports, and Bluetooth audio connectivity.
