United Airlines to Resume Tel Aviv Service Earlier Than Expected

United Airlines has announced that it will resume service between Tel Aviv and its Newark/New York hub on July 21, ten days earlier than originally planned. The decision comes after a large number of international airlines suspended service to Israel on June 13 due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.

United had previously announced that it would pause service with Tel Aviv until at least July 31. However, the improved flying conditions following a truce between the two countries at the end of last month have allowed for an earlier resumption of service.

In a statement, United emphasized their commitment to serving Tel Aviv and stated that the decision to resume service was made after careful consideration of operational factors in the region and consultations with the unions representing their flight attendants and pilots.

The airline also noted that they had previously suspended daily service between Newark and Dubai, but did not provide an update on the status of that service.

American Airlines, which has not flown to Tel Aviv since October 2023, stated that they have “nothing new to share at this time regarding Tel Aviv service. ” They did, however, mention that customers planning to travel to Israel can purchase tickets on their partner airlines that serve Tel Aviv, as American is part of the Oneworld Alliance.

Delta Air Lines, another airline that had suspended service to Middle Eastern destinations, did not respond to a query for comment.

The resumption of service between United Airlines and Tel Aviv is a positive development for both the airline and the region as a whole. With the ongoing truce between Israel and Iran, it is expected that other airlines will follow suit and resume service to Tel Aviv in the near future.
