United Airlines to Launch Nonstop Service Between Lansing and Chicago
Starting May 7, United Airlines will provide nonstop flights between Lansing’s Capital Region International Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport. This new route will offer four daily flights, connecting Mid-Michigan travelers to United’s extensive global network.
The announcement, made by Nicole Noll-Williams, President and CEO of the Capital Region Airport Authority, marks United’s return to the Lansing market. Chicago O’Hare is one of the busiest airports in the nation and serves as a major hub for United’s domestic and international routes.

Local business leaders, such as Tim Daman, President and CEO of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, also expressed their excitement for the new route, stating that expanded air service will benefit the regional economy by attracting new employers, supporting existing businesses, and providing residents with the access they deserve.
The Capital Region International Airport, which employs 700 people, drives $1 billion annually in economic impact. It welcomes over 352,000 visitors each year and moves 63. 5 million pounds of cargo annually. With United operating hubs in major cities such as Chicago, Denver, and New York, this new route will provide convenient connections for travelers.
Tickets for the new route will go on sale on January 29. United Airlines operates the most comprehensive global route network among North American carriers, with hubs in cities like San Francisco and Washington D. C. The airline is committed to providing reliable and high-quality service for its customers.
