Qatar Airways, a leading global airline, has announced that it will be relocating to the new Terminal One at New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in 2026. This move will also mark the debut of Qatar Airways’ first dedicated lounge in both New York City and the United States.
According to Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, the airline is excited to launch its operations at the new terminal and provide its Business Class passengers with an enhanced experience. The premium, 15,000-square-foot lounge will offer exclusive services such as dedicated airport transfers, VIP check-in, and a range of retail and dining options. This move demonstrates the airline’s commitment to expanding its services in the US, particularly in a destination as integral to their network as New York.
The new Terminal One is a significant part of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s $19 billion transformation project for JFK Airport. This transformation includes the construction of two new terminals, as well as the modernization and expansion of two existing terminals. It also involves the development of a new ground transportation center and a simplified roadway network. Jennifer Aument, the new Terminal One CEO, expressed her gratitude for Qatar Airways’ decision to partner with them, further solidifying the value that the terminal offers to international carriers looking to establish a stronger presence in New York.
This relocation to Terminal One at JFK Airport is a major milestone for Qatar Airways and their commitment to providing exceptional service to their passengers. With this move, they aim to offer a seamless and luxurious travel experience for their Business Class customers, further cementing their position as a top global airline.
