Qatar Airways Unveils New Aircraft Design at Grand Prix Weekend
Qatar Airways made a grand finale to their Grand Prix weekend by showcasing a new aircraft design at the Lusail International Circuit. The Grammy award-winning artist, Swizz Beatz, designed the livery for the airline’s Boeing 777, which was displayed in a dramatic flypast before Saturday’s Sprint race. The event was attended by thousands, including celebrities such as David Beckham, Jessica Alba, Rio Ferdinand, Rosie Huntington Whiteley, and Novak Djokovic.
The newly designed aircraft featured Starlink high-speed internet connectivity, allowing media representatives and invited guests to experience the flypast from inside the plane. The technology also enabled live broadcasting of the flight over the circuit. After the aerial demonstration, the livery was unveiled at the Qatar Airways hangar, where Kevin Hart made a theatrical entrance as a Formula 1 driver.
The airline’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer, expressed his confidence that the new livery would become one of the most recognized in the aviation industry. He also mentioned that the flight became the most tracked on Flightradar24 for a whole 24-hour period.
The newly designed Boeing 777 will be deployed to various destinations, including London, Melbourne, New York, and Tokyo, throughout the winter season. Aviation enthusiasts can track the aircraft using its registration A7 BEG.
The livery design is a result of Qatar Airways’ Creative 100 initiative, a cultural partnership with Swizz Beatz that was announced at Art Basel Paris in 2025. The Grammy-award winning music producer, also known as Kassem Daoud Dean, co-founded The Dean Collection with his wife, Alicia Keys. Their collection was featured in a 2024 Brooklyn Museum exhibition called Giants.
The Creative 100 platform celebrates influential creators in art, design, music, technology, and sports. Qatar Airways will launch a digital hub featuring films, interviews, podcasts, and city guides created by global artists. Privilege Club members will have access to exclusive masterclasses and priority invitations to cultural events.
In addition to the new livery, Qatar Airways also announced a second livery that will commemorate their partnership with the FIFA World Cup in 2026.
This is not the first time that Qatar Airways has been recognized for their exceptional services. The airline has been voted the World’s Best Airline by Skytrax nine times, and also received recognition for World’s Best Business Class and World’s Best Business Class Airline Lounge. Qatar Airways also holds the title of Best Airline in the Middle East for the 13th time.
Operating flights to over 170 destinations worldwide, Qatar Airways operates through its hub at Hamad International Airport in Doha. The airport has been named the Best Airport in the Middle East for 11 consecutive years by Skytrax voters, and also received the World’s Best Airport Shopping award for the third consecutive year.
