LOT Polish Airlines is expanding its transatlantic network with the addition of non-stop flights from Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) in Poland to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) in California. The airline will offer four weekly flights starting in May 2026, using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. San Francisco will be the sixth US destination for LOT Polish Airlines, and the second in California after Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Flight Details

In a statement released today, LOT Polish Airlines announced that it will begin non-stop flights between Warsaw and San Francisco on May 6, 2026. Flights will operate four times a week, on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The Wednesday and Saturday flights will depart Warsaw at 17:40 and return from San Francisco at 22:15. The Thursday and Sunday flights will depart Warsaw at 11:15 and return from San Francisco at 15:50. Robert Ludera, Director of LOT’s Network Department, emphasizes the strategic importance of transatlantic flights for the airline, with 800,000 passengers flying between Poland and the US in the past year. He also notes that the new route will provide opportunities for both business travelers and tourists.

Onboard Experience

LOT Polish Airlines has confirmed that it will use Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft for its new Warsaw-San Francisco flights. The airline currently has eight 787-8s and seven 787-9s in its fleet, with average ages of 11. 5 and seven years, respectively. Both aircraft models have a three-class seating configuration, with 18 business class flatbeds, 21 premium economy recliners, and 213 economy seats on the 787-8, and 24 business class flatbeds, 21 premium economy seats, and 249 economy seats on the 787-9. While there is no in-flight WiFi, the Thales i8000 system provides entertainment throughout the flight.

LOT’s US Network

Tickets for the new Warsaw-San Francisco flights are now available for purchase through LOT’s usual channels. San Francisco will become the airline’s sixth destination in the US, joining Chicago O’Hare (ORD), Los Angeles, Miami (MIA), New York JFK, and Newark (EWR). Most of these destinations are served by flights from Warsaw Chopin Airport, but Chicago O’Hare also has non-stop connections to Kraków John Paul II International (KRK). LOT also offers seasonal flights from Newark and Krakow.
