JetBlue Airways to Add Nonstop Service from New York to Cleveland

JetBlue Airways has announced plans to launch its first-ever nonstop flight from New York to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) starting in March. This new route will provide travelers with more options for travel between the two cities and beyond.

New Nonstop Flight from New York to Cleveland

JetBlue, based in New York, will offer one daily flight between CLE and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) starting on March 30. The flight will be operated by a 140-seat Airbus A220-300 aircraft, providing a comfortable and efficient travel experience for passengers.

JetBlue also currently offers two daily flights from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and one daily flight from JFK to Cleveland, according to schedule data from aviation analytics firm Cirium.

Unlocking New Travel Options for Passengers

Scott Carr, assistant director of commercial business and revenue at JetBlue, expressed excitement about the new nonstop route, stating that it will provide passengers with exciting new travel options. He also noted that the addition of this route further strengthens CLE as Northeast Ohio’s Gateway to the World.

In addition to connecting Cleveland with New York, the new flight also provides access to JetBlue’s flights to the Caribbean, Latin America, and London’s Heathrow Airport (LHR). Passengers with connections in transatlantic Mint, JetBlue’s business class, will also have access to the airline’s new BlueHouse lounge at JFK.

Continued Growth for JetBlue

According to Chief Financial Officer Ursula Hurley, JetBlue plans to continue growing year-over-year in 2026 by a percentage in the “low- to mid-single digits. ” This expansion includes new flights to Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) and Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP), as well as increased service to San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU).

JetBlue’s History with Cleveland

JetBlue began offering flights to Cleveland in April 2015, just one year after United Airlines closed its hub there, according to Cirium schedules. The airline has been connecting Cleveland with Boston and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) since its first flights to the Ohio airport. It also previously offered service between Cleveland and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).

Competition on the Route

JetBlue will be competing with American Airlines and Delta Air Lines on the CLE-JFK route, according to Cirium schedules. Other airlines offering service between Cleveland and New York include American, Delta, Frontier Airlines, and United Airlines.

In Conclusion

JetBlue’s addition of a nonstop flight from New York to Cleveland will provide travelers with more options for travel and connections to other destinations. This expansion is a testament to the airline’s continued growth and commitment to providing convenient and comfortable travel options for its passengers.
