American Airlines Launches New Flagship Business Suite on Select Boeing 787 Planes
For frequent flyers, there is no better feeling than settling into a comfortable business class seat and relaxing on a long flight. That’s why American Airlines has recently introduced its new Flagship Business suite on select Boeing 787 aircraft, providing passengers with a luxurious and comfortable travel experience.
The new Flagship suites feature a privacy door, a lie-flat bed, and premium amenities such as pajamas and a mattress pad. These suites are available on flights between Chicago and London, Philadelphia and London, Zurich, and seasonal service from Dallas to Brisbane.
American Airlines has configured their new 787 planes with 43 business class suites, 32 premium economy recliners, 18 extra legroom economy seats, and 143 seats in the main cabin. Passengers in the main cabin can also enjoy spacious and comfortable seats, making the entire flight experience more enjoyable.
One of the main highlights of flying in the new Flagship Business suite is the access to Flagship lounges and priority boarding. These lounges offer upgraded food options, shower facilities, and premium wine and cocktails, including Bollinger champagne. The lounge at American’s main hub in Dallas was surprisingly uncrowded, providing a peaceful and comfortable place to relax before the flight.
In the air, the best part of flying business class is the lie-flat bed, and passengers in the Flagship Suite Preferred seats are given two pillows, an upgraded mattress pad, a duvet, a throw blanket, slippers, and pajamas. The dark accents and finishes in these suites create a cozy and comfortable atmosphere, perfect for a good night’s sleep. Other business class passengers also receive a mattress pad, duvet, pillow, pajamas, and slippers, providing a comfortable and restful flight experience.
Passengers in business class are also treated to a multi-course dinner, snacks, and refreshments throughout the flight, and a breakfast meal before landing. The airline offers a rotating selection of amenity kits, including items such as an eye mask, socks, earplugs, tissues, a dental kit, a moist towelette, lip balm, moisturizer, and facial mist. These kits are provided by Raven Lily and come in a reusable leather satchel with an attachable shoulder strap.
Overall, the new Flagship Suite has received positive reviews from frequent flyers, with many praising the privacy door and upgraded finishes. The crew on the flight was friendly and efficient, and the higher humidity and pressurization on the 787 planes helped passengers feel less dehydrated upon arrival.
While some may find the suite doors a bit claustrophobic, the majority of passengers appreciate the added privacy and comfort they provide. The only suggestion for improvement would be to have slightly larger at-seat storage compartments.
As a travel reporter, I have flown business class several times, and I would not hesitate to fly in American’s new Flagship Suite again.
