Gulf Air, the national airline of Bahrain, has announced a long-term partnership with the New Terminal One at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. This strategic collaboration will position the airline for future growth and elevate the customer experience in New York City.
The New Terminal One is part of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s $19 billion plan to transform JFK Airport into a world-class gateway. The project includes two new terminals, the modernization and expansion of two existing terminals, a new ground transportation center, and a new, simplified roadway network.
Gulf Air will resume service to the United States on October 1, 2025, with three weekly nonstop flights from Bahrain International Airport to JFK Airport’s existing Terminal 1. This will be the only nonstop flight connecting Bahrain and the United States and marks a significant return for Gulf Air to JFK. In 2026, Gulf Air will move its operations to the new Terminal One when the first phase opens, marking another milestone in the airline’s transformation.
The move to the New Terminal One will enhance the travel experience for Gulf Air customers, in line with the airline’s investments in fleet modernization and in-flight service. Gulf Air was recently awarded the prestigious APEX Five Star Global Airline Award for its transformation and dedication to customer service excellence. The airline’s global network connectivity remains a top priority, with several new destinations added to its route map in the past year.
Jennifer Aument, CEO of The New Terminal One at JFK, congratulated Gulf Air on their return to the United States and expressed excitement in being their long-term partner. She also noted that both teams are dedicated to providing an extraordinary experience for all passengers at the new terminal.
Jeffrey Goh, CEO of Gulf Air Group, stated that the move to the new terminal is a significant milestone in the airline’s commitment to enhancing global connectivity and providing a superior travel experience. The modern facility aligns with Gulf Air’s vision to offer world-class service, comfort, and seamless connections. Goh also expressed enthusiasm in being part of the transformative development at one of the world’s leading international gateways.
Gulf Air joins 15 other airlines, including Air France, KLM, Etihad, and Turkish Airlines, in selecting the New Terminal One as their new home at JFK Airport. This state-of-the-art terminal will provide an exceptional experience for passengers and further solidify JFK’s status as a premier international airport.
