Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport recently completed the renovation and expansion of Terminal C, adding nine new gates to the terminal. The airport officials shared that these new gates are built in a pier configuration, which increases the operational capacity. Out of these nine new gates, five were rebuilt from older terminal infrastructure, while the remaining four are entirely new.

Terminal C is exclusively used by American Airlines, which is why this expansion is a significant milestone for the airline. Jim Moses, American’s senior vice president of operations at Dallas/Fort Worth, expressed his excitement about the investment in modernizing and expanding the terminal facilities. He believes that these efforts will not only enhance the customer experience but also pave the way for future growth.

The reconstruction of Terminal C also includes the installation of electronic boarding gates, using Dormakaba technology. American Airlines is the first U. S. -based airline to implement these systems on such a large scale. These electronic gates are expected to improve efficiency and streamline the boarding process for passengers.

Moreover, this phase of the terminal’s renovation also includes additional seating, new passenger amenities, and concession space. The airport aims to provide a more comfortable and convenient experience for travelers.

Upon completion, Terminal C will have a total of 32 gates and cover over 1 million square feet. This expansion project is a significant step towards accommodating the increasing number of passengers at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

Terminal C is the busiest terminal for American Airlines at Dallas/Fort Worth, with an average of nearly 200 departures per day. With the addition of nine new gates, the airline will now have more room to operate and serve its customers better.

In conclusion, the recent expansion of Terminal C at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is a significant achievement for both the airport and American Airlines. It is a testament to their commitment to providing a world-class travel experience for all passengers.
