American Airlines to Resume Flights to Two International Destinations

American Airlines has announced that it will be resuming service to two international destinations, one in Latin America and one in the Caribbean. The airline will restart flights between Miami and Maracaibo, Venezuela on July 14, operating daily using Embraer E175 aircraft. This route was previously served by American but was terminated in 2019 due to a U. S. government ban on nonstop flights to and from Venezuela.

The U. S. Transportation Secretary lifted the ban earlier this year, and American was the first U. S. carrier to return to the country with the launch of service to Caracas in April. Now, with the resumption of flights to Maracaibo, American is expanding its presence in Venezuela and providing more travel options for passengers.

In addition, American will also resume flights between Miami and Cap-Haitien, Haiti on November 1. The daily service will be operated using Boeing 737 aircraft. American had previously paused all flights to Haiti in 2024 due to unrest in the country. However, with the restoration of this connection, the airline aims to serve the needs of travelers and cater to the large Haitian-American population in South Florida.

According to American Chief Commercial Officer Nat Pieper, the airline is committed to connecting the U. S. with Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America better than any other carrier. With the addition of Maracaibo and Cap-Haitien, American will now serve a total of 100 destinations in the Caribbean and Latin America, solidifying its position as the U. S. carrier with the most flights and destinations in the region.

This move by American Airlines demonstrates the airline’s commitment to expanding its international network and providing more travel options for its passengers. With the lifting of the U. S. government ban and the restoration of these two routes, American is once again connecting travelers to these important international destinations.
