According to reports by the CBC, the incident occurred around 7:30 p. m. local time when the aircraft was reversing on the tarmac. The employee was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries.

The identity of the deceased worker has not been released to the public. In a statement, the airport expressed their condolences and referred to the incident as a “tragic workplace accident. ” The loss of a member of their airport community has deeply affected everyone involved.

The French Bee aircraft involved in the incident was scheduled to depart for Paris at 6 p. m. , but was delayed due to the accident. No details have been released regarding the type of aircraft involved, as French Bee operates an all-Airbus A350 fleet with two variants, the -900 and -1000.

The airline has not released a statement regarding the accident, but authorities from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada and Employment and Social Development Canada have launched an investigation.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is responsible for investigating transportation accidents and making recommendations to prevent similar incidents in the future. Both organizations will work together to determine the cause of the accident and any potential safety lapses in the workplace.

This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers of working in the aviation industry. Airport employees, including ground workers, play a crucial role in ensuring the safe operation of flights and the smooth functioning of airports. Their hard work and dedication are essential to the success of the aviation industry, and their safety should always be a top priority.
