Delta Air Lines Named Top On-Time Airline in North America for Fifth Consecutive Year
For the fifth year in a row, Delta Air Lines has been recognized as the top on-time airline in North America by aviation analytics company, Cirium. This achievement reflects the airline’s unwavering commitment to safety, reliability, and exceptional service.
Cirium’s annual report, based on data from 2025, showed that Delta’s performance surpassed all other North American carriers with 80. 9% of its 1. 8 million flights arriving within 15 minutes of schedule. This was 1. 7 percentage points higher than the nearest competitor, despite Delta operating four times more flights.
In addition to being the top North American airline, Delta was also the only US carrier to make it to Cirium’s list of Top 10 Global Airlines for on-time performance. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of Delta’s employees who consistently prioritize safety and on-time performance for their customers.
John Laughter, Delta’s E. V. P and Chief of Operations, expressed his satisfaction with the recognition, stating, “Earning top marks for North American operators for five years running is a testament to the industry-leading teamwork of Delta people and a direct result of their dedication to our customers and each other.
Delta has also been recognized for its operational and service excellence by other organizations such as J. D. Power, The Points Guy, and Skytrax, solidifying its position as America’s most awarded airline.
Apart from its exceptional performance, Delta has also been expanding its services to meet the growing demand for air travel. In December 2025, the airline officially launched its seasonal Accra-Atlanta, United States service at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra. This daily service was in response to the strong travel demand between the US and Ghana, especially during the peak holiday season in December and January.
The expanded service provides greater flexibility for both business and leisure travelers, in addition to Delta’s year-round daily flights from New York-JFK. Speaking at the launch, Mr.Rolf Olson, Chargé d’Affaires at the US Embassy in Ghana, highlighted the significance of this route, stating, “More than a convenient connection, this route opens doors for economic growth, cultural exchange, and collaboration, providing new pathways for people to engage across continents.
In conclusion, Delta Air Lines’ continued success as the top on-time airline in North America for five consecutive years is a testament to its commitment to providing safe, reliable, and exceptional service to its customers. Their dedication, coupled with their expanding services, solidifies their position as a leading airline in the industry.
