Delta Airlines offers access to its Sky Clubs as a reward for loyal customers who spend a significant amount of money with the company. These lounges, operated by Delta, can be found in over 50 locations across the United States, with one international Sky Club at Tokyo Haneda Airport. They are considered Delta’s standard lounges, with fewer restrictions on who can access them compared to their newer DeltaOne lounges.
New York and Los Angeles are the two most competitive markets in the United States, where Delta operates large hubs. In order to stay competitive with American Airlines and United Airlines, Delta opened a new Sky Club at LAX in 2022 and another at JFK in 2023. These are two of the newest Sky Clubs in the Delta network, and the question remains: which one is better?

The Sky Club at LAX is the older of the two Sky Clubs in question, having opened the year before the one at JFK. It replaced the older Sky Club and is currently the only Delta Sky Club at LAX. The lounge is located at Terminal 3 and is open daily from 04:15 to 00:30. This new Sky Club was part of Delta’s $2. 3 billion “Sky Way” project to modernize their terminals.
The Sky Club occupies most of the fourth level of the terminal, with the remaining space taken up by the DeltaOne lounge. It covers almost 20,000 square feet and offers a variety of amenities, including Wi-Fi, power ports, an indoor/outdoor bar, a large terrace, and showers. The interior design incorporates elements of Los Angeles’ natural beauty and city aesthetics, with high ceilings, wood accents, and floor-to-ceiling windows creating a modern and visually appealing space. The LAX Sky Club is also known for its self-service food bar, particularly praised for its excellent tacos. However, due to its compact size, the lounge can become crowded.

Similarly, the Delta Sky Club at JFK was also opened as part of a larger modernization project for Terminal 4. The lounge is open daily from 05:00 to 22:30 and is located in the A concourse near gate A8. This area is primarily used by international carriers such as Emirates and Singapore Airlines, while most Delta flights depart from the B concourse.
The JFK Sky Club is smaller, covering 14,000 square feet compared to the LAX lounge. However, it still offers a variety of amenities, including Wi-Fi, power ports, a bar, an outdoor terrace, a dining area, and a self-serve buffet. It is also one of two Sky Clubs at JFK’s Terminal 4, with the other being located in the B concourse near gate 31. This lounge is larger and offers additional amenities such as showers and relaxation pods.
