Alaska Airlines Announces 13 New Nonstop Routes and Expansion to Two New Airports
In an effort to provide a remarkable travel experience for their guests, Alaska Airlines is introducing 13 new nonstop routes beginning next spring, including flights from their key hubs in San Diego and Portland. They have also added two new destinations to their route map and increased their commitment to Hawaii with additional flights.
Expansion to New Airports
Alaska Airlines is excited to announce their expansion to two new airports: Tulsa, Oklahoma and Arcata-Eureka, California. With these additions, they will serve a total of 142 destinations in 2026, making it their most extensive network yet. Additionally, with the addition of Arcata-Eureka, Alaska Airlines will serve more year-round airports in California than any other airline.
New Routes from San Diego
San Diego continues to be one of Alaska Airlines’ fastest-growing hubs, and they are expanding their presence there by more than 35% in spring 2026 compared to spring 2025. Five new nonstop routes will be available from San Diego, including flights to Dallas-Fort Worth, Oakland, Raleigh-Durham, Santa Barbara, and Tulsa. With these additions, Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines will offer nonstop flights to the top 15 most popular markets from San Diego and serve a total of 49 nonstop destinations.
New Routes from Portland
Alaska Airlines is also adding more flights from Portland to major cities, with successful growth in the summer of 2025. Starting in May, they will begin service to Baltimore, Idaho Falls, Philadelphia, and St. Louis. This expansion will bring their total number of nonstop destinations from Portland to 62. They have also added a second flight to Newark and increased their Portland-Lihue (Kauai) service to year-round. Furthermore, they have upped their daily flights to Santa Rosa-Sonoma to three.
Commitment to Hawaii
Alaska Airlines is committed to providing extensive access to Hawaii, and they serve more airports from California to Hawaii than any other airline. They have added a new seasonal flight between Honolulu and Hollywood Burbank Airport, the first time these two airports have been connected in over 20 years. Additionally, they have increased the number of flights from two West Coast gateways, with Los Angeles-Kahului (Maui) now offering two daily nonstops and an additional seasonal flight. Furthermore, their San Francisco-Kona (Hawaii Island) and San Francisco-Lihue (Kauai) routes will increase in June to daily nonstops, joining flights that already operate several times a week. By early summer, Alaska Airlines will fly daily to all four Hawaiian Islands from San Francisco, just like they do from Los Angeles, Portland, San Diego, and Seattle.
Expansion in Santa Rosa-Sonoma
Alaska Airlines is the leading carrier at Santa Rosa-Sonoma Airport, offering twice as many destinations compared to any other airline.
