SSP America Secures Management Contract for Four Units at JFK Terminal 6
SSP America has been awarded a contract to manage four units at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) Terminal 6. This contract adds to SSP’s existing presence across various JFK terminals. The concession features a mix of local favorites and SSP’s own original concepts and comes as part of a $19 billion redevelopment project by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to transform JFK into a world-class gateway.
The offer includes For Five Coffee, PJ Clarke’s, Le Grand Comptoir, and The Gotham Burger Social Club. For Five Coffee, founded in Queens, New York in 2010, has become a popular coffee destination with a focus on specialty coffee. PJ Clarke’s, a well-known Manhattan gastropub established in 1884, is famous for its “Cadillac” burgers and classic New York ambiance. Le Grand Comptoir, a multi-award-winning concept created specifically for airport environments by SSP’s global food travel experts, will also be featured. Lastly, The Gotham Burger Social Club, an on-trend concept inspired by the city, will serve up classic burgers with a New York twist.
Steve Thody, CEO of JFK Millennium Partners, the company responsible for the development of Terminal 6, stated, “Our vision for T6 is to create a welcoming dining experience that embodies the essence of New York. SSP America shares that vision, bringing together exceptional local flavors, iconic brands, and hospitality that will resonate with travelers from around the world.
The development of Terminal 6 will be completed in two phases, with the first six gates set to open in 2026 and the entire terminal expected to be completed by 2028. The project is a public-private partnership between the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and JFK Millennium Partners, a consortium led by Vantage Group. As part of the first phase, For Five Coffee and PJ Clarke’s will begin service when T6 opens later this year, while Le Grand Comptoir and The Gotham Burger Social Club are expected to open in 2028.
SSP America’s Chief Development Officer, Paul Loupakos, expressed, “Terminal 6 represents the future of air travel – digitally advanced, sustainably built, and deeply rooted in the culture of New York. Being a part of this groundbreaking development is a great honor for SSP America. As food travel experts, we are proud to contribute to a terminal that will redefine the passenger experience, bringing our ‘taste of place’ philosophy to life with concepts that embody the soul of the city. We are excited to help shape this journey for travelers.
This contract is a significant achievement for SSP America, as Terminal 6 is expected to become a top destination for travelers and will showcase the company’s expertise in creating unique and authentic dining experiences in airport environments.
