JetBlue to Launch Daily Nonstop Service Between Cleveland and New York
Starting in March, JetBlue Airways will offer daily nonstop flights between Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. This new route will provide travelers in Northeast Ohio with a highly sought-after option for travel to the busy JFK airport.
The demand for this route has been high among both business and leisure travelers, who are looking for more flight options to the nation’s busiest airport for international travel. Currently, American and Delta airlines operate flights on this route.
The daily flight will depart Cleveland at 6 a. m. and arrive in New York City at 7:40 a. m. The return flight will leave New York at 9:45 p. m. and arrive in Cleveland at 11:55 p. m. The route will be operated by a 140-seat Airbus A220 aircraft.
This is not the first time JetBlue has served the Cleveland market. The airline started flying from Cleveland in 2015, one year after United closed its hub at Hopkins. However, at the moment, JetBlue only offers flights to one destination from Hopkins – Boston Logan International Airport. In the past, the carrier also operated flights to Fort Lauderdale and Fort Myers, Florida.
JetBlue has consistently ranked among the top airlines in the nation, known for its exceptional in-flight entertainment, complimentary Wi-Fi, extra legroom, and free snacks. Dave Jehn, JetBlue’s vice president of network planning and airline partnerships, believes that the new route will greatly benefit Clevelanders traveling to New York City and beyond.
Jehn stated, “New York is not only a great destination and business hub, but it’s now another JetBlue gateway for Clevelanders and Northeast Ohioans. With our new route, Cleveland customers can choose what works best for them, unlocking even more access to JetBlue’s growing leisure network. ” JetBlue offers connections to numerous destinations in the Caribbean, South America, and Europe from both Boston and JFK.
This announcement is the second service expansion for Hopkins this week. American Airlines has also revealed plans to increase flights between Cleveland and its Chicago O’Hare hub. These new options will provide travelers with more convenient and affordable travel opportunities.
